The Champions Trophy is back after a gap of eight long years and the excitement around the tournament is increasing with each passing game. The preparations are on with all eight teams ironing out their flaws and looking to lift the second most prestigious trophy of the 50-over format.

There have been numerous memorable moments over the years that have grabbed the imagination of fans in the tournament, and it would be interesting to see how things unfold in the 2025 edition. There will be some big players who will take the field and some of them might play their last edition of the tournament, so expect some big players to step up in this tournament.

However, some of the greats of the game, the premier batters of world cricket have not yet scored a century in Champions Trophy. So, let's look at the three star players who are yet to score a hundred in the tournament.

1. Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is arguably the greatest ODI batter ever, and has 50 centuries in the format. He has scored hundreds in World Cups and in high-pressure environment against all odds. However, the Indian star is yet to score a century in Champions Trophy despite playing three editions of the tournament so far.

He has played 12 innings in Champions Trophy and has scored 529 runs at a stunning average of 88.16. His highest score though is unbeaten 96 against Bangladesh in the semifinal of Champions Trophy 2017 which includes five fifties. He has six not outs in the tournament, which shows that he has done well, and would be hoping to end the century drought in the 2025 edition.

2. Babar Azam

The Pakistan superstar also has a great record in ODI format and averages 56.73 which includes 19 centuries. He was part of Pakistan's winning campaign in the 2017 edition, but it was one of those rare tournaments where he did not get a big score.

In the five Champions Trophy games, Babar Azam has scored 133 runs with an average of 44.33. The average looks good but his highest score is just 46 and his country would be hoping that he comes up with bigger scores and help Pakistan defend the title. Also, Pakistan will play at home except the game against India, and so Babar has the advantage of notching up big scores in front of the home ground.

3. Steve Smith

The Australian superstar is another great batter who is yet to score a century in Champions Trophy. He has 12 hundreds in the format and has delivered on big stage consistently, playing a big hand in Australia's dominance in ICC tournaments.

He has played only one edition of Champions Trophy though, and in three games of that tournament, Smith scored one fifty. He stayed unbeaten on two occasions, and has total 86 runs with an average of 86 which shows that he did his job quite well. He is now an experienced cricketer and the onus would be on him to get big scores and take Australia close to another ICC title.
