In the ongoing Duleep Trophy's second-round match between India A and India D, Shreyas Iyer hogged the internet after he took the crucial wicket of India A skipper Mayank Agarwal on the first ball of his spell. 

India A, batting first, put 290 runs on the board. In reply, the Shreyas Iyer-led side tumbled for just 183 runs on the board. In the second innings, the Mayank Agarwal-led side strengthened their 107-run lead and put 115 runs on the board with a loss of just one wicket after stumps on day 2. 

Talking about the solitary wicket that India A lost in the second innings, Shreyas Iyer provided an important breakthrough that too on the first ball of his spell. 

On the first ball of the 29th over, Iyer stunned Mayank Agarwal with a flighted delivery. Agarwal tried to flick the ball towards the leg side but got tricked by the flight and instead directed the ball towards Iyer, who took a great catch off his own bowling. 

It is worth noting that it was the first time that Iyer came to bowl in this Duleep Trophy edition. 

Shreyas Iyer Records A Failure With The Bat

Despite striking with the ball, Iyer had a disappointing run with the bat as he registered a seven-ball duck in the first innings. Further, Iyer hogged the internet after he came to bat with sunglasses on.  Talking about Iyer's performance in the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2024, he has played three innings and scored a fifty-plus score in just one innings.

It is not the first time that Iyer has hogged the internet with his bowling, as he also rolled his arms over in the recently concluded Buchi Babu tournament, where he imitated Sunil Narine's action.
