Pakistan's Test skipper Shan Masood failed to convert his start into a big score as he was castled by Faisal Akram in the Stallions' ongoing clash against the Lions in the Champions Cup. Opening the batting, Shan Masood struck 41 runs before Akram bowled him around his legs with a ripper.

The incident occurred during the 16th over of the Stallions' innings when Masood was trying to steady the ship alongside Babar Azam. After Yasir Khan was dismissed by Aamir Jamal, Masood was expected to guide his team to a safe total with an impactful knock. However, his stay in the middle was put to an end by Faisal Akram, who bamboozled him with a magnificent delivery.

As Masood was steadily increasing the Stallions' scoring rate, the Lions' skipper Shaheen Afridi brought his ace spinner Faisal Akram into the attack. His tactic worked wonders for the Lions, with the wrist-spinner getting rid of the southpaw in his second over.

From over the wicket, Akram bowled a full-length delivery around Masood's pads, prompting him to play a risky sweep shot. The stylish opener fell in his trap, as he tried to dispatch the ball through the square leg fence.

However, unfortunately for the Stallions, Masood got comprehensively beaten, with the ball shattering his stumps around his legs.

Tayyab Tahir Joins Babar Azam In The Middle

After Shan Masood's departure, ace batter Babar Azam was joined by the in-form Tayyab Tahir in the middle. While this game gives Babar a golden opportunity to redeem himself following a disastrous series against Bangladesh on home soil. As of writing, the Stallions were comfortably placed at 128 for two, with Babar and Tahir batting on 44* and 25*, respectively.
