[Watch] Sarfaraz Khan Recreates Javed Miandad's Iconic Jump To Mock Kuldeep In Duleep Trophy
Sarfaraz Khan's jumping celebration [X]
Led by Shubman Gill, India-A had a forgettable time with the bat, as the India-B pacers exploited the seam-friendly conditions in Bengaluru to bowl them out cheaply in the Duleep Trophy. Amid the batters' underwhelming performance, India-A had something to cheer about when Akash Deep formed a scintillating partnership with Kuldeep Yadav.
But the stand was eventually broken by Washington Sundar, who dismissed his spin-bowling partner, Kuldeep Yadav, taking India-B one step closer to a well-deserved victory. However, what grabbed the limelight was a priceless reaction from Sarfaraz Khan, who teased Kuldeep with Javed Miandad's famous jumping celebration. The incident not only depicted Sarfaraz's intensity but also shed light on his camaraderie with Kuldeep Yadav.
The incident occurred during the 48th over of India A's second innings when Abhimanyu Easwaran wanted someone to draw the eighth blood for his team. Washington Sundar emerged as his man with a golden arm, as he removed Kuldeep with a beautiful delivery.
After starting his over with a dot ball, Sundar pitched the ball up, drawing Kuldeep onto a false shot. The experienced wrist-spinner fell into his trap as he struck the drive straight into the hands of Musheer Khan, who took a simple catch at cover.
As Kuldeep started walking back to the dugout, the in-form Sarfaraz Khan jumped with jubilation to tease his India teammate. His reaction reminded fans of Javed Miandad, who expressed his frustration at a chirpy Kiran More during the high-octane India vs Pakistan clash in the 1992 World Cup.
Clinical India B thrash India A by 76 runs in Duleep Trophy
Riding on a stupendous bowling performance, India B registered a phenomenal 76-run victory over India A in the Duleep Trophy 2024. Chasing 275, the Shubman Gill-led side was particularly let down by their batting unit across both innings.
The skipper himself failed to capitalise on his starts, while key batters like Mayank Agarwal, Dhruv Jurel and Shivam Dube struggled to get going against the B team's rampant bowling attack.
