After failing to deliver in the first innings of the Duleep Trophy game between India A and India B, a lot was expected of the birthday boy, Shubman Gill in the second innings, but he once again failed to deliver under pressure, when his team needed him the most.

Gill allows his ego to takeover

Gill admires Virat Kohli, and he followed his idol by fishing at a delivery which was pitched on the fifth-stump line as the bowler, Navdeep Saini scalped the big wicket, which has pushed India A in a precarious situation.

Gill, failed in the first innings as well, and interestingly, it was Navdeep Saini, who trapped him for a score of 25. The India A skipper looked vulnerable against the incoming delivery in the first innings, and here, it was the away-going ball that did the trick for Navdeep and India B.

The India B bowler, Navdeep bowled a fuller-length ball, which pitched on the fifth-stump line. Gill did not need to play at it, but his instincts got the better of him as the India A leader played away from his body and his India teammate, Rishabh Pant, safely took the outside edge. Gill looked dejected, but the India B team were ecstatic, as they had fetched a big wicket.

India A on the verge of defeat!

India A needed 275 to clinch the victory, but their momentum was pushed back by some inspirational bowling. The pitch was doing enough in the second innings and the India B bowlers utilised the conditions perfectly.

Yash Dayal has been the pick of the bowlers so far, scalping 3 big wickets and has played an important role in India B’s resurgence.
