After a brief exile, the Indian captain, Rohit Sharma is back at his illustrious best as a Test opener. On Friday, the 37-year-old batter become Ben Stokes & company's biggest nemesis by slamming his 12th Test century and 7th overall against England.

Rohit's landmark moment came in the 58th over when he flicked a fuller delivery from Tom Hartley for a single towards the deep mid-wicket to reach the three-figure mark.

Interestingly, this feat was Rohit Sharma's second ton of the series, along with a fifty as he is on the verge to become the third Indian to notch 400 runs in this series.

Earlier in the morning, Shubman Gill went past the 400-run mark in the series. Meanwhile, Yashasvi Jaiswal is miles ahead of everyone with 712 runs

The 37-year-old Indian captain began the day with 52*, and a century was for taking in the perfect setting of Dharamsala. However, Rohit Sharma had to survive the early burst off Jimmy Anderson and the other English bowlers.

He negated the force named Anderson and survived a close shave against Shoaib Bashir, but there was no stopping for Rohit Sharma after that.

During his century, the right-handed batter decorated it with 13 boundaries and three maximum - one of which came against Shoaib Bashir earlier in the morning.

Alongside Rohit, Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal did the heavy-lifting with the bat in Dharamsala. The later, who has over 700 runs in the series, got dismissed after a blistering fifty, but Gill did not give up as he registered his fourth Test hundred.

India, meanwhile, is at the box seat, with 264 runs on the board with Rohit Sharma (102*) and Shubman Gill (101*) in the middle.
