In a remarkable achievement, promising Indian batter Yashasvi Jaiswal completed 1000 runs in Test cricket on day 1 of the ongoing match against England in Dharamsala.

Jaiswal, who has showcased exemplary form in the series, became the quickest opening batter to achieve the feat in Test history. He also became the fastest Indian (in terms of matches) to complete 1000 Test runs.

Notably, Australian batting stalwart Sir Donald Bradman still holds the record for the fastest to 1000 Test runs, as he attained the landmark in only seven matches.

Since making his debut, Jaiswal has been exceptional with the bat in the purest format. After impressing everyone with his blistering batting on the Caribbean tour, Jaiswal was slightly off-colour when India toured South Africa for a two-match Test series.

However, it took him a little time to redeem himself, as he has been all over the visiting Englishmen during the ongoing home series.

The stylish southpaw recorded a rare feat by slamming double tons in consecutive Tests in Visakhapatnam and Rajkot, where the hosts comprehensively thrashed England.

Regarding the Dharamsala Test, India are in a commanding position, thanks to Kuldeep Yadav's sensational fifer. As of writing, India were off to a flyer, comfortably placed at 89 for no loss, with Jaiswal accompanying Rohit Sharma in the middle.
