In a sensational display of quality fielding effort, Sajeevan Sajana of Mumbai Indians Women grabbed a remarkable running catch to dismiss UP Warriorz's last hope, Sophie Ecclestone, in a high-octant WPL 2024 season clash.

Having been put into chase 161 runs on Arun Jaitley Stadium's pitch, UP Warriorz began the second innings on a horrific note. They lost three wickets in quick succession inside the powerplay, the latest victim being UP-W skipper Alyssa Healy.

However, against the odds, veteran all-rounder Deepti Sharma rose to the occasion to launch a counterattack. But to Deepti's misfortune, her resistance was hampered by incessant fall of the wickets from the other end.

To further add to the misery, UP Warriorz last hope, Sophie Ecclestone, was sent back on a golden duck courtesy of a spectacular field effort from S Sajana. A fullish delivery on the middle stump from Nat Sciver-Brunt was chipped towards wide long on by Sophie.

Meanwhile, an alert Sajana at long-on came sprinting down to her right and covered a lot of ground in a split second. However, as she realized she was falling short, Sajana dived forward and grabbed a stunner just inches above the turf.

Most importantly, Sajana held onto the catch despite getting losing her balance because of the momentum. Meanwhile, the crowd, her teammates, and everyone watching the game were left stunned by her effort.

Mumbai Indians captain Harmanpreet Kaur was jubilant and shocked at the same time to witness a remarkable field effort from Sajana. Undoubtedly, Sajana's grab will go on as one of the finest catches of the WPL 2024 season.

That being said, owing to a collective effort from the Mumbai Indians Women's bowling unit, the defending champions secured a comfortable 42-run win over UP Warriorz Women to further solidify its position on the competitive points table.
