The joy of a father witnessing his son's success on the cricket field is unparalleled, and for Shubman Gill's father, the moment of elation came as his son notched up his 7th Test fifty during day 2 of India vs. England red ball game held in Dharamsala earlier today.

After bossing Day 1 of the series finale Test against England in Dharamsala, Indian batters Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill walked out on Day 2 to reduce the trail and tighten their grip further into the Test match.

While India lost the ongoing series hero, Yashasvi Jaiswal, at the brink of stumps last evening, Gill and Rohit were headstrong with their intent.

Gill, especially, played his shots to perfection and respected the good deliveries gracefully. After taking on Mark Wood for a couple of boundaries in the 38th over, Gill didn't look back.

With a comfortable single in the 40th over, Shubman Gill brought up his 7th Test half century and 4th fifty of the ongoing series against England. Not only that, Gill now has 400 runs in this series versus the Englishmen.

It was a moment of jubilation for fans and Gill's family as his dad stood up in the stands to applaud his son's milestone with a radiant smile.

In a moment of pure joy, Gill's father clapped and cheered for his son as he dominated on the world stage against formidable opposition. For the parent, witnessing his son's success in the Test match in Dharamsala was a moment of immense pride and joy.

That being said, owing to Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma's commendable half-centuries, India are now in the lead at the loss of a mere one wicket.

Both set batters on the crease have had negligible trouble and therefore India should be looking at posting a mammoth total in the second innings of high-stake Dharamsala Test.
