In the ongoing Champions Trophy 2025 opening match between Pakistan and New Zealand at the National Bank in Karachi, the visitors, batting first, put on a show and put 320 runs on the board after the end of the first innings. 

New Zealand didn't get off to the perfect start, as they lost three early wickets. However, Tom Latham and Will Young took the onus on their shoulders and smashed respective centuries to trouble Pakistan. 

New Zealand Batters Whack Afridi For Runs

As the match progressed, frustration crept into the Pakistani camp as bowlers were getting hit for runs all over the park. Shaheen Afridi had a day to forget as the left-arm seamer gave away 68 runs in his 10 overs and went wicketless. 

Talking about Shaheen, Glenn Phillips, once again towed with him in the death overs and hit him for runs. Meanwhile, a video has been doing rounds on the internet where skipper Rizwan lost his cool over Afridi after he wasn't bowling according to the plan.

Notably, in the penultimate over of Shaheen Afridi, Latham found an outside edge that went over the head of the fielder within the thirty-yard circle for a boundary. Rizwan was frustrated, and by the looks of his gestures, it seemed as if he wanted Afridi to have a fielder there, but the seamer declined.

Afridi too wasn't pleased by Rizwan's gestures and replied to the Pakistani skipper in an aggressive tone. Watch the instance here. 


Rizwan Loses Cool On Several Occasions

Talking about Rizwan, he had several moments on the field where he lost his cool. He wasn't pleased with the fielders and was recorded telling his players to be active on the field. He also had a few heated moments with Naseem.

Through out the match, Rizwan hid his emotions behind the glove and was visibly animated through out.
