Former India captain Virat Kohli’s middling form in international cricket hasn’t stopped him from exploring opportunities elsewhere. If you’re thinking of Kohli preparing to ply his trade in some other T20 league, hold your horses!

With the BCCI’s (Board of Control for Cricket in India) curbs around players’ participation in rival T20 tournaments here to stay, Kohli won’t be playing anywhere else. In fact, as per a latest development, he will be seen making his debut as a team owner.

Virat Kohli Buys Team Blue Rising In UIM E1 World Championship

Kohli, who owns and endorses plentiful businesses in India, is all in readiness of kick-starting life as a team owner. In a tournament which is highly likely to sound unfamiliar for a large majority of Kohli’s fans based in India, he has bought one of the nine teams in the UIM E1 World Championship.

Named Team Blue Rising, Kohli’s team will participate in the all-electric powerboat world championship in Jeddah, Miami, Monte Carlo and Doha. Backed by PIF (Saudi Public Investment Fund), mixed-gender pilots will be selected from various racing disciplines for the competition.

Virat Kohli Joins An Elite Club Of Owners

Already part of numerous elite clubs with regard to cricketing records, Virat Kohli’s journey as an owner will also begin alongside some absolute legends from the field of sports and entertainment.

It is to be noted that Kohli will compete against the likes of Lebron James (Team AIUIa), Tom Brady (Team Brady), Didier Drogba (Team Drogba), Rafael Nadal (Team Rafa), Will Smith (Westbrook Racing), Steve Aoki (Aoki Racing Team), Marc Anthony (Team Miami) and Marcelo Claure (Team Brazil) in the powerboating competition.

In another update pertaining to Indians, UIM E1 World Championship will be live streamed on FanCode in order to target a whole new set of audiences.
