On Wednesday, February 19, the ninth edition of Champions Trophy 2025 kickstarted in Pakistan, when the hosts locked horns against New Zealand in the first match of the tournament at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi.
It was an emotional moment for the PCB and Pakistan cricket as the ICC event returned to their nation after 29 years. Ahead of the prestigious event, the PCB had renovated the three venues- Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi. However, to everyone's surprise, the fans turned up in low numbers to watch the two teams lock horns in the opening match of the Champions Trophy.
