Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan won a million hearts with a lovely gesture towards Abrar Ahmed after Tom Latham smacked the spinner in the ongoing Champions Trophy match between two sides. Latham played a massive role in New Zealand's remarkable comeback, slamming a flamboyant knock in the high-octane clash.

The incident occurred during the 44th over of New Zealand's innings when Latham was trying to ensure a fitting finish for them alongside Glenn Phillips. Rizwan's decision to bring Abrar for his final over backfired on the hosts, as Latham smashed him all around the park. 

After Glenn Phillips took a single off the second ball, Tom Latham hit the third ball for a four before dispatching the very next delivery for a massive six. As soon as Abrar was hit for a six over the square leg, Rizwan came towards him and guided him like an elder brother. 

The skipper's sweet gesture showcased his leadership qualities, highlighting his mindset to back his troops in thick and thin. 

Latham, Phillips Powering NZ To A Huge Total

Despite losing Kane Williamson and Devon Conway cheaply, New Zealand didn't lose the plot, with Will Young and Tom Latham stepping up with the bat. After Young was dismissed, Latham and Phillips frustrated Pakistan with scintillating stroke play. As of writing, New Zealand were 269 for four, with Latham and Phillips batting on 99* and 34*, respectively.
