Young spin bowling all-rounder Riyan Parag emerged as India's wrecker-in-chief with the ball as he recorded a phenomenal three-wicket haul to dismantle Sri Lanka in the ongoing third ODI at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. 

After dismissing Avishka Fernando and Charith Asalanka, the mystery spinner bamboozled Dunith Wellalage with a ripper.

The incident occurred during the 44th over of Sri Lanka's innings when they were in a spot of bother, having lost a few wickets in quick succession. 

As Wellalage joined Kusal Mendis in the middle to steady the Lankan ship, Parag turned out to be his nemesis, cleaning him up for two runs. 

After Washington Sundar got the prized scalp of Janith Liyanage, Sri Lanka had high hopes from Wellalage, who has been sublime with the bat in the series. However, the southpaw let his team down this time, being Parag's third victim of the day. 

From around the wicket, Parag bowled a good-length delivery around the middle stump, which turned sharply away from Wellalage, beating him on his defence. 

As a result, the ball went past his outside edge, uprooting the off stump. After Wellalage's departure, all-rounder Kamindu Mendis joined Kusal in the middle. 

As of writing, the hosts were 212/6 at the end of 46 overs, with Kusal and Kamindu batting on 41* and 8*, respectively.
