In the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2024 game between India A and India, tensions are reaching a fever-high for Shubman Gill and Co. They are in dire need of pulling off something miraculous to win this clash. The unexpected wicket of all-rounder Riyan Parag, who was dismissed with a peach of a delivery from none other than Yash Dayal, added to the intensity of the game.

In the 8th over, Dayal bowled an around-the-wicket good length delivery around the fourth stump; the ball pitched, straightened, and got the outside edge of Parag's bat as he aimed to lean forward to defend it. Wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant, stationed comfortably behind the stumps, took a regulation catch.

As Riyan walked back, he looked visibly pissed as he gave a death-stare to Dayal. He was dismissed after scoring just 31 runs off 18 balls including three humongous maximums and one boundary.

KL Rahul going strong with India A's hopes

The India A bowlers did a fantastic job earlier when India B was dismissed for 184 in their second innings, courtesy the five-for by Akash Deep. India A then launched an intense chase in a bid to overhaul a 1-point deficit, but setbacks like losing four wickets in trying to score rapidly did no good to the team.

Out went Mayank Agarwal, caught for a single-digit score of just 3 runs, and though Riyan Parag and Shubman Gill promised something more, it was a partnership that was not to last as Parag fell to Yash Dayal, who has picked up three wickets so far, for a brisk 31 off 18 balls.

The situation turned worse as Tanush Kotian and Dhruv Jurel went out for ducks and then Shivam Dube after a 14 off 27 balls. India A now have an uphill task to come back into the game and win it as at the time of writing, they need 157 runs to win with KL Rahul and Kuldeep Yadav out in the middle.
