In a thrilling Duleep Trophy 2024 clash between India A and India B, SRH star Nitish Kumar Reddy pulled off a stunning catch to dismiss Mayank Agarwal. Mayank was forced to crawl back to the pavillion after scoring just 3 runs.
During the match, Yash Dayal, from India B, delivered a good-length ball around the fourth stump to Mayank Agarwal. The delivery moved across Agarwal, causing him to get squared up while attempting to defend. The ball took a thick outside edge and flew towards second slip, where Nitish Kumar Reddy was stationed.
Reddy, showcasing remarkable agility, dived to his right and managed to make a one-handed catch. Although he fumbled briefly, he secured the ball, and after a thorough review by the TV Umpire, the catch was confirmed as clean. Reddy's exceptional reflexes and concentration ensured that Agarwal was dismissed, adding a crucial wicket to India B's tally.
Shubman Gill-Led India A Lose Grip
Earlier, India A's bowlers did an excellent job as they bowled out India B for 184 in the second innings, well inside two sessions. With a five-wicket haul, Akash Deep was the most impressive amongst the lot and tore through India B's batting line-up.
India A forged ahead aggressively in pursuit of the target, needing to wipe out the 1-point deficit. However, their innings received a setback as four wickets were lost in an attempt to score rapidly. Mayank Agarwal was out for just three runs, and though Riyan Parag and Shubman Gill started well, that partnership was cut short, too. Parag's flashy 31 off 18 balls ended when he fell to Yash Dayal, who has picked up three wickets in the innings so far.
