Swashbuckling keeper-batter Rishabh Pant survived a caught dismissal as Dhruv Jurel misjudged a running catch in the ongoing Duleep Trophy match between India A and India B. Known for his hard-hitting skills, Pant was trying to up the ante for India B when he got a lucky escape during the high-octane face-off.

After Khaleel Ahmed got the important wicket of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Akash Deep oozed his class with the ball, dismissing Abhimanyu Easwaran and the previous innings' centurion Musheer Khan. Pant joined Sarfaraz Ahmed in the middle following Easwaran's cheap dismissal.

He adopted a counterattacking approach, which worked wonders for India B. As both started to get into the groove, Shubman Gill handed the ball to Akash Deep, seeking a breakthrough from his trump card.

The bowler had an ordinary start to his over, conceding six runs, including a boundary, off his first four deliveries. Although he created a chance on the penultimate ball of the over, Jurel failed to hold on to a tough catch.

From around the wicket, Akash Deep bowled a full-length delivery outside the off stump. Pant decided to capitalise on the room, going aerial with an audacious big heave. However, he couldn't time it properly, with the ball gobbling up in the air for a long time.

India A wicket-keeper Dhruv Jurel called for the catch, as he covered a considerable distance to grab it. However, he misjudged it completely and even failed to get close to the ball.

Pant and Sarfaraz steady the ship for India B

After India B lost three wickets in quick succession, Rishabh Pant rode his luck en route to a valuable cameo. On the other hand, Sarfaraz Khan also looked in rhythm, taking on the India A bowlers to score some crucial runs for his side. As of writing, India B were 93 for three, with Pant and Sarfaraz batting on 30* and 45*, respectively.
