The Bangladesh versus South Africa first Test match witnessed a turning point at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium when Keshav Maharaj stirred things up in favour of the Proteas by dismissing captain Najmul Hossain Shanto in Dhaka.
Therefore, the building partnership between him and Mahmudul Hasan Joy was broken. Najmul Hossain was forced to walk back for 23 runs off 41 balls. During his time at the crease, he slammed two boundaries and one maximum.
In the 19th over, Keshav Maharaj bowled a tossed-up delivery at the off stump. Shanto tried to cover his off stump, aiming to defend by marching forward. Unfortunately, he got tangled up, and the ball hit the thigh and back of his leg. The umpire wasted no time, immediately lifting his finger and signalling OUT. Najmul got beaten on the outside edge and was plumb in front by Maharaj, who had the last laugh.

Bangladesh vs South Africa Day 2 Called Off
Previously, Najmul Hossain Shanto won the toss and opted to bat first. However, this decision backfired as they lost three of their top four within the first six overs. Followed by which, Bangladesh somehow managed to touch the 100-run mark and eventually were bowled out for 106 runs.
Then began South Africa's batting innings, where the Proteas men lost their captain Aiden Markram early on in the game. Tristan Stubbs, David Bedingham and Wiann Mulder all contributed along with Kyle Verreynne, who became the first South African wicket-keeper to slam a ton in Bangladesh. His heroics helped, the Aiden Markram led side take a lead of 202 runs.
At the time of writing, Bangladesh are at trailing by 106 runs and the day's play has been called off due to poor lighting.
