Australian skipper Mitchell Marsh took an ill-advised review in a bid to save his wicket after being given out off Rishad Hossain’s bowling in the Super Eight match against Bangladesh at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.

The incident occurred during the fifth delivery of the ninth over. Rishad bowled a full delivery at the stumps, a wrong 'un that skidded through.

Marsh attempted a sweep but missed and was struck in front. The umpire raised his finger immediately.

Marsh reviewed the decision, but ball tracking showed the delivery clipping the bails, confirming the on-field decision. As a result, Marsh had to make his way back to the dugout.

This dismissal marked Rishad’s second wicket, having bowled Travis Head shortly after a brief rain interruption.

Before the rain break, Australia was progressing well, scoring 59 runs in six overs. Following Head’s dismissal, Marsh walked in but struggled against the spin duo of Rishad and Mahedi Hasan, who prevented him from finding a boundary.

Known for his aggressive style, Marsh eventually attempted a risky shot, leading to his downfall.

Earlier, an excellent bowling performance from Australia restricted Bangladesh to 140 for 8 in their 20 overs.

Sent in to bat first, Bangladesh lost Tanzid Hasan in the first over, but skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto and Litton Das added 58 for the second wicket.

Das struggled while Shanto made a solid 41. Bangladesh lost wickets regularly and couldn’t build partnerships in the middle. Towhid Hridoy’s 40 off 28 balls helped them reach the 140-run mark with some late hits.
