In the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 match at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua, Australia started strong while chasing Bangladesh's sub-par total of 140/8 in 20 overs. After winning the toss, Australia opted to bowl first and effectively restricted Bangladesh.

Australian openers Travis Head and David Warner provided a solid start in the powerplay as they scored runs freely.

Destructive batter, Travis Head, in particular, played aggressively, scoring 31 off 21 balls. However, in the 7th over of the Australian innings, rain interrupted the gameplay.

Shortly after the game resumed, Bangladesh bowler Rishad Hossain struck, as he dismissed Travis Head. Rishad bowled a slower leg-break on a length that pitched outside off and turned in sharply.

Travis Head attempted to drive it through covers with a horizontal bat but missed the inside edge, and the ball crashed into the stumps. This lapse in concentration, possibly due to the rain break, led to Head's dismissal, which provided Bangladesh with a crucial breakthrough.

Rishad provided another crucial wicket as Mitchell Marsh departed after scoring just 1 run. Still, despite Rishad's bowling exploits, Australia were in a commanding position, placed at 100 for two in 11.2 overs at the time of writing.
