Pat Cummins delivered a remarkable performance against Bangladesh, as he showcased intense bowling and took two wickets in consecutive deliveries during Match 44 of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.
Pat Cummins' impressive spell came in the 18th over of Bangladesh's innings. His first wicket came when he bowled a short ball outside off stump, which Mahmudullah Riyad attempted to pull.
The ball took an inside edge and crashed into the stumps, as he was beaten by the pace and bounce.
On the very next delivery, Cummins struck again. He banged the ball into the pitch outside off stump, and Mahedi Hasan tried to ramp it over the third man but only managed to find Adam Zampa, positioned wider on the third man fence.

In a significant achievement, Cummins registered another wicket of Towhid Hridoy and became the first bowler to take a hat-trick in the T20 World Cup 2024. Furthermore, he became only the second Australian to achieve the feat in the tournament's history.
Bangladesh continued to struggle and lost wickets at regular intervals. They failed to build any significant momentum, thanks to the intense and effective bowling performance from Cummins and the rest of the Australian attack. As a result, they finished on an under-par 140/8 in 20 overs.
