Australia's in-form batter Marcus Stoinis showcased his bowling prowess in the ongoing T20 World Cup encounter against Bangladesh as he got the prized wicket of Shakib Al Hasan in a crucial stage of the game.

The incident occurred during the 16th over of Bangladesh's innings when Shakib was trying to ensure a fitting finish for his side alongside Hridoy. However, he couldn't succeed in his mission, with Stoinis dismissing him cheaply.

Bowling the second over of his spell, Stoinis started with a full length delivery that stopped a bit after pitching around the middle and leg stump.

In a bid to break the shackles, Shakib went for an aerial shot only to mistime it. As a result, the ball went high up in the air before Stoinis took a simple catch to complete a soft caught and bowled dismissal.

However, soon after Shakib got out, Hridoy shifted gears to smack Stoinis for two consecutive sixes. But ace pacer Pat Cummins ensured Australia didn't lose the plot, dismissing Mahmudullah and Mahedi Hasan on successive deliveries.

As of writing, Bangladesh were tottering at 127 for seven in 18.4 overs, with Hridoy and Taskin Ahmed batting on 40* and 4*, respectively.
