As IPL 2024 is about to begin, plenty of fans’ eyes are roaming around here and there to see where their favourite franchise’s players are, and how well they are performing for both club and country. Mumbai Indians fans would be pleased to see one of their star recruits Dilshan Madushanka take an absolute beauty of a catch.

Madushanka’s excellent catch took place on Friday in Chattogram during the second ODI between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Soumya Sarkar, Bangladesh’s in-form top-order batter, was his victim during the 22nd over of Sri Lanka’s innings.

Batting on 68 off 66 balls, Soumya went for a reverse sweep against Wanindu Hasaranga’s flighted delivery. The connection was alright, but Madushanka, placed deep backward point, was equally brilliant. He spirited like a bird while chasing the ball and threw his body in perfection to catch it. And it happened, leaving Wanindu Hasaranga to celebrate the prized wicket in an aggressive manner.

On the other hand, Soumya Sarkar was left in complete shock at the crease, thinking how come it was a catch and not a six.
