Jaiswal, Ravindra, Coetzee & Madushanka Nominated For ICC Emerging Player Of The Year

Indian batting sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal has been nominated for the ICC Men’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year 2023 award. In addition to him, South African pacer Gerald Coetzee, New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra, and Sri Lankan pacer Dilshan Madushanka are the other nominees for this coveted award.

Yashasvi Jaiswal's journey in 2023 was nothing short of spectacular, as he made it to the Indian Test and T20I squads after a standout IPL season. With 625 runs in 14 matches, he claimed the fifth spot in the IPL run-scoring list, maintaining an average of 48.07 and a strike rate of 163.61.  

Bursting onto the Test scene, he crafted a remarkable debut century against the West Indies, scoring 171 runs. Across three matches, he accumulated 288 runs at an average of 57.60 and secured his place in India's Test lineup.  

Jaiswal scored a hundred and a fifty in three Tests while smashing three fifties and a century in T20Is so far. The southpaw was also part of India's Asian Games 2023 winning squad, which went on to bring a gold medal in the prestigious tournament. 


Rachin Ravindra

Meanwhile, the New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra was the rising star in the 2023 ODI World Cup, amassing 578 runs at an average of 64.22 in 10 matches.

He accumulated 820 runs in ODIs at an average of 41 in 2023 while also picking 18 wickets at an economy rate of 6.02. In T20Is, the Kiwi all-rounder scored 91 runs at an average of 18.20 while claiming five wickets.


Gerald Coetzee

The South Africa pacer has also been nominated after putting on an extraordinary performance in the 2023 ODI World Cup. The right-arm quick picked up 20 wickets in eight matches at an economy rate of 6.24.

The Proteas pacer picked up a total of 31 wickets in the 50-overs version of the game at an economy rate of 6.47 while picking up ten wickets in Tests at an economy rate of 3.87. In T20Is, he picked up six wickets at an economy of 10.50. 


Dilshan Madushanka

The Sri Lanka speedster also emerged as a standout in the 2023 ODI World Cup, securing 21 wickets in nine matches. The left-arm pacer picked up 15 ODI wickets at an economy of 24.06 while claiming 12 T20I wickets at an economy of 9.80 in 2023.
