We are at the fag end of the league stage of Maharaja Trophy 2024, and in the 28th match, Mysore Warriors were up against Mangaluru Dragons. Mysore Warriors emerged victorious as they chased down the target of 179 with six wickets in hand.

However, they did lose their first wicket early, and it was courtesy of a lovely loopy delivery from Shreyas Gopal. The right-arm spinner played for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024 and is an experienced customer who knows how to outfox the batters in varied situations.

He did the same to get the first wicket for his side in this game, and it gave a glimmer of hope to Mangaluru Dragons in the early part of the second half.

It was a flighted delivery, outside off, turning away from the right-hander and Codanda Ajit Karthik tried to sweep it against the spin. He only managed a big top edge tough and the ball went left to the short leg fielder who grabbed it quite well.

Karun Nair's Mysore Warriors Move To The Second Spot On Points Table

However, the joy was short-lived for Dragons, as the second-wicket stand between Karthik S U and Karun Nair completely took the game away from them. Nair scored 64 while Karthik S U scored 69 and the duo ensured that their team grab the second spot on the points table.

Mangaluru Dragons, on the other hand, are languishing at the bottom of the points table with only one win out of their nine matches.
