PCB Caught Using Table Fans To Dry Rawalpindi Pitch Before 2nd PAK Vs BAN Test

Bangladesh made history in Rawalpindi by notching their first-ever Test win against Pakistan. It was a humiliating loss for the home side by 10 wickets and now all eyes are on how they would react in the second Test starting from 30th August at the same ground.

Also, the pitch has been a constant talking point throughout this series, and with showers continuing to make their presence felt in Rawalpindi, the right turf preparation is getting difficult for the groundsmen.

In the midst of all these, now a photo has popped up where table fans are seen stationed on either side of the pitch to dry the 22-yard strip in order to neutralize the wetness created by rain.

The pitch has a green look to it, and it is expected to be helpful for the pacers with plenty of moisture also expected with rain around. However, extra wetness on the pitch would be a concern, so the groundsmen seem to be using every trick in the book to dry up the pitch as quickly as possible.

However, it also highlights the lack of proper infrastructure in Pakistan, and numerous such incidents of poor facilities have been reported from Pakistan stadiums in the recent past.

Pakistan Likely To Include Abrar Ahmed After Blunder In 1st Test

The pitch for the first Test was quite flat, and both Pakistan and Bangladesh posted big scores in their respective first innings. However, the move to not play any spinner in the XI backfired for Pakistan, and their batters too failed to deliver in the second innings, as Bangladesh tweakers wreaked havoc in the second innings.

Now, ahead of the second Test, Pakistan are not likely to make the same mistake of going with an all-out pace attack, and there is a high chance that Abrar Ahmed will make it to the final XI this time around.
