Suryakumar Yadav and Shreyas Iyer's return to domestic cricket did not go as planned, as the two star Indian batters fell cheaply in the ongoing Buchi Babu tournament.

Mumbai are playing against TNCA XI, where Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav failed to shine with the bat. TNCA XI, batting first, put 379 runs on the board.

In reply, Mumbai, got off to the worst possible start as they have lost five wickets for 124 runs. Shreyas Iyer, who came to bat at No.3, amassed just 2 (3) and was dismissed by Sai Kishore in the 16th over.

Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav, who is eyeing to feature in a Test for India, scored 30 runs (38), which featured three fours and a six. Left-arm spinner Ajith Ram S got the important wicket of Surya.  Recently, SKY opened up on his desire to feature in Test cricket for India.

"There are a lot of people who have worked really hard to earn their place, and even I want to earn that spot again. I made my debut for India in Tests. After that, I got injured as well. There were a lot of people who got an opportunity and have done well too. They deserve that opportunity right now," Surya had said.

Shreyas Iyer Seeking Central Contract With BCCI

Earlier this year, the BCCI dropped Iyer from the central contract after he refused to feature in the domestic tournament and had to pay a heavy fine.
