In the one-off Test match between South Africa Women and India Women, a moment of lapse in judgement by South African all-rounder Masabata Klaas proved costly, pushing her team into a follow-on as Sneh Rana picked her 7th wicket.
Indian Women's cricket team has dominated the South African cricket team like never before in the ongoing one-off Test match in Chennai.
Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana’s record opening stand and significant contributions from the middle order steered India to a gigantic 603-run total in the first innings.
Sneh Rana and Deepti Sharma were on a roll with the ball as they made the most of the spin-friendly conditions in Chennai.
Rana removed openers Laura Wolvaardt and Anneke Bosch in quick succession. The visitors were tested brutally as they struggled to adjust to the spin-friendly conditions.
Sune Luus and Marizanne Kapp fought back with a 100-run partnership but couldn’t hold the fort for too long. With South African women staring at a follow-on, Sneh Rana wasn’t satisfied with her five-wicket haul and left the lower order in tatters.

Masabata Klaas wasn’t even allowed to ground her feet as Rana fooled her into recording a hilarious dismissal.
Her third delivery of the 83rd over spun after hitting the good length, but Klaas failed to read it. She had a moment of brain fade as she left the ball that crashed into the stumps after being brushed past her back pad. Rana had a wide smile on her face as she picked up her 7th wicket of the innings.
Rana wrapped things up to finish with an eight-wicket haul as South Africa were bowled out for a paltry 266-run total in their first innings.
