The fifth game of CPL 2024 between St Kitts & Nevis Patriots and St Lucia Kings is underway at the Warner Stadium in St. Kitts. The Patriots, who are coming fresh off a defeat, were asked to bat first and had a terrible start after skipper Andre Fletcher departed for just 1.

Kyle Mayers dismisses Forde out of the ground

The incident occurred during the last ball of the 3rd over. Matthew Forde bowled a beautiful over as he delivered five dot balls but bowled a wide and that extra delivery proved costly for him.

Forde missed the line on his last ball and pitched it down the leg side, while Mayers showed no mercy and powered it for a massive six that went out of the ground. 

At the time of writing this article, the hosts are 151/1 in 15.1 overs. Mayers has already scored a fifty.

Mayers Eyeing To Impress Lucknow Super Giants

Kyle Mayers made a scintillating start to his IPL career in 2023 after he amassed 379 runs in 13 innings and was considered ahead of Quinton de Kock in the pecking order. 

However, the LSG management underwent changes ahead of IPL 2024 that resulted in Mayers not getting a solitary match. Thus, the southpaw would look to impress his IPL franchise and it is a crucial time as mega-auction is also scheduled later this year.

Meanwhile, Quinton de Kock too shone in this CPL as he scored a quickfire 87 (45) for which he won the player of the match award.
