IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants have thanked outgoing head coach Andy Flower for his services in the Indian Premier League (IPL).  LSG, who made their debut in IPL 2022, appointed the former Zimbabwean captain as their head coach for a two-year period in 2021, which ended after the completion of IPL this year.

Under, Flower, LSG reached playoffs stages in both seasons, losing their Eliminator matches against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI), respectively in 2022 and 2023 to finish on third position.

LSG took to the social media platform Twitter and thanked Flower for his time during his two-year stint. One of the finest wicketkeeper-batters, Flower is currently working with the Australian team as a consultant.

Here's what LSG tweeted

"Dear Andy, Today it's farewell, but it'll never be goodbye because you'll always be one of our own. Thank you for everything! 💙"

Meanwhile, the Lucknow-based franchise has roped in former Australian head coach Justin Langer as their head coach going forward. Renowned for his grit as a Test opener, Langer has previously coached the Australian men's team with distinction, leading them to an Ashes and a T20 World Cup triumphs.
