Pakistan's former cricketer turned analyst Basit Ali has once again spoken about the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy in February 2025, and his latest comments have involved India PM Narendra Modi.

Basit Ali has been proactive in following the latest developments around the Champions Trophy and does not shy away from putting out his views. In the latest events, he talked about the appointment of Jay Shah as ICC chairman and remarked that India's decision to travel to Pakistan now lies on the shoulder of Narendra Modi.

"Now, the entire decision lies on the shoulders of PM Narendra Modi. If he agrees then India may travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. Otherwise, the ball will be in ICC's court and then Jay Shah will have a tough time in taking a call," Basit Ali on his YouTube channel.

BCCI's Take on India Travelling To Pakistan

There has been no official dialogue between BCCI and PCB over India's plan for Champions Trophy 2025, but there are reports that India might not travel to the neighbouring country because of security concerns and the apex cricket board in India might push for the hybrid model.

Several cricket pundits for Pakistan have urged PCB to not let their guard down, while a few requested Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma to visit Pakistan. In the coming month, cricket fans will be updated more on the same by the ICC, but the latest reports suggested that the ICC has kept extra funds for Pakistan to accommodate India's games.

Basit Ali's Warning To Pakistan

Basit Ali recently warned PCB to be careful with the security of visiting teams in the upcoming tours as a breach would result in the Champions Trophy not happening in Pakistan.  His remarks came after soldiers were killed in Baluchistan and Peshawar.
