Pakistan's prominent top-order batter, Fakhar Zaman, hit a magnificent uppercut to collect six runs off Obed McCoy's bowling in the ongoing CPL 2024 clash between Antigua & Barbuda Falcons and Barbados Royals. Zaman's exceptional shot showcased his range, signifying his ability to score all around the park. 

The incident occurred during the fifth over of Antigua's innings when Zaman and Sam Billings were engaged in rebuilding following Kofi James' early dismissal. After a solid start to the game, Barbados Royals' skipper Rovman Powell introduced renowned pacer Obed McCoy for his first over.

However, Fakhar Zaman had other ideas, as he welcomed the West Indies pacer with an effortless six over the backward point region. From over the wicket, the left-arm seamer bowled a short ball wide outside the off stump, allowing Fakhar to free his arms. 

The experienced opener capitalised on the opportunity, as he timed the ball perfectly over the in-field. It was a glorious shot, with the ball sailing over the backward point boundary for a maximum. The gorgeous hit reminded fans of Sachin Tendulkar's iconic six against Shoaib Akhtar in the 2003 World Cup. 

Fakhar followed it up with two consecutive boundaries before McCoy dismissed him, thanks to a spectacular catch from Dunith Wellalage. His departure brought some respite for the Royals, as he has been in sublime form this CPL

Falcons suffer a top-order collapse against the Royals

Fakhar's wicket opened the floodgates for Antigua & Barbuda Falcons, as they lost two more quick wickets to find themselves in troubled waters. While Sam Billings was stumped by Quinton de Kock off Wellalage's bowling, McCoy made Imad Wasim his second victim of the day. As of writing, the Falcons were reeling at 47 for four, with Jewel Andrew batting on 4*.
