Fakhar Zaman started on an aggressive note in the ongoing CPL 2024 contest between Antigua and Barbuda Falcons and Barbados Royals.

On a two-paced surface, Fakhar looked in ominous touch and despite the team losing an early wicket, he took the aggressive path and smashed Barbados Royals' Obed McCoy for 14 runs in three deliveries. He started the over with a sensational six over deep point, and followed it up with back-to-back boundaries to rattle the bowler.

However, just as he looked set to take the game away from the opposition, McCoy took his revenge and dismissed the Pakistan batter on the very next delivery.

He bowled a widish length delivery and forced Fakhar to go away from his strength, which is targeting the leg side region. The top-order batter smashed the delivery, but found Dunith Wellalage at covers, who stayed low and grabbed a brilliant catch just inches above the ground.

The third umpires checked for a clean catch, and the decision wet in favour of the bowling side as a disappointing Fakhar had to walk back for 17.

Disappointing start for Antigua side!

Antigua team started with a barrage of boundaries, with opener Kofi James hitting a couple of boundaries and a mammoth six to Maheesh Theekshana. However, his innings didn't last long and the right-handed batter was dismissed in the second over itself.

Holder delivered a length ball and James miscued it straight to the fielder at mid-on. Fakhar then started the carnage, but even his innings was cut-short.
