Lockie Ferguson is one of the fastest bowlers in world cricket and whenever he is in full flow, there is no stopping him. Now, in the game against Papua New Guinea in T20 World Cup 2024, he displayed his full class and bowled a historic spell where he bowled four maidens and took three wickets.

He got the wickets of Asad Vala, Charles Amini and finally Chad Soper. The last wicket came on the second delivery of the 14th over. It was a full ball in the line of the stumps with good heat behind it and Soper who was in no position to play it tried to open the face of his bat, he got an inside edge though and the ball knocked over the stumps.

Earlier, Kane Williamson won the toss and decided to bowl first after rain delayed the start of proceedings. Tim Southee got the opening wicket and then Ferguson showed his class and PNG kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Both the teams though are out of the tournament and it is also the final T20 World Cup game of Trent Boult, so he would be looking to finish off on a high.
