Tony Ura, a key player for Papua New Guinea, faced a challenging moment during the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. In their last match against New Zealand at the Brian Lara Stadium on June 17, Ura's performance took an unfortunate turn.

New Zealand, after winning the toss, chose to field first. Tim Southee made an immediate impact for the Black Caps by claiming the crucial wicket of Tony Ura in the second over. This early breakthrough set the tone for the New Zealand bowlers.

The dismissal was a notable moment in the match. Southee, bowling over the wicket, delivered a full-length ball that angled in but swung away from the right-handed Ura. The ball pitched on the off-stump line, prompting Ura to clear his front leg and attempt a flick through the leg side.

However, he only managed a big leading edge, sending the ball flying behind square on the off side. Glenn Phillips, positioned at cover point, made a swift move to his left and secured a fantastic catch, removing Ura from the crease.

This early setback left Papua New Guinea in a precarious position. At the time of writing, PNG was struggling at 16 for 2 in 7 overs, highlighting their difficulty in establishing a stable innings against the disciplined New Zealand bowling attack.
