Gautam Gambhir came back into Kolkata Knight Riders as a mentor ahead of IPL 2024, and made a massive impact as KKR went onto win the IPL title for third time in history. Gambhir was rightly and largely credited for the win and there were some talks that Shreyas Iyer, the captain of the side did not get enough credit.
The same question was asked by Youtuber Shubhankar Mishra to fast bowler Harshit Rana, who played a big role in KKR's success this season. Rana though answered the question quite cleverly and stated that Gautam Gambhir has sacrificed a lot to give his all for KKR this season.
He mentioned that Gambhir not only left LSG, but also left politics and channeled all his energy towards making KKR a champion team again.

While the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer was brilliant, Gambhir's role in promoting Sunil Narine at the top of the order and bringing out the best of him cannot be undermined. He is now the front-runner to become India's head coach and clearly his man-management skills are top-notch as evident from his record as leader and mentor in IPL.
