In the ongoing ninth CPL 2024 match between St Kitts & Nevis Patriots and Barbados Royals, the Patriots, batting first, did not perform as per expectations and could only manage to put 153 runs on the board.

Hasaranga and Louis fought back for the Patriots

The Patriots, who are on a three-match winless streak, were asked to bat first by the Royals. They got off to the worst possible start and lost three wickets in the first eight balls of the match. The top three failed to open their accounts and had to rely on Wanindu Hasaranga and Mikyle Louis's fifty-run stand.

For the fourth wicket, the duo stitched an 82-run stand to give the home fans something to cheer for. Talking about the fans, local boy Louis had them excited after he hit a six that landed on the roof of the Warner Stadium at St Kitts.

On the 3rd ball of the 7th over, Louis smashed Dunith Wellalage for a big six that got the crowd dancing.  Louis made 30 (20), which featured three fours and two sixes.

Louis is having a season to remember as he also shone and made it to the news against Trinbago Knight Riders, where he smashed a one-handed six off Sunil Narine's bowling.

In fact,  Louis become the first cricketer from St Kitts to play red-ball cricket for West Indies in July, when the Caribbean side visited England for a Test series.

Hasaranga Shines For the Patriots

Hasaranga, who is playing his first game for the Patriots in this season, shone for his side as he was the top-run getter and amassed 40 (27).
