The seventh match of CPL 2024 at Warner Park, was a thrilling contest between the Guyana Amazon Warriors and the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots. After winning the toss, Warriors' captain Imran Tahir elected to bat first, but the team faced early setbacks and lost openers Kevin Sinclair and Shai Hope within the powerplay.

Gurbaz and Hetmyer's Propel Warriors To Mammoth Total

The game turned around when Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Shimron Hetmyer came together. Their explosive partnership of 116 runs off just 47 balls revived the Warriors' innings and provided the necessary momentum.

The Agfanisthan opener played an entertaining knock of 69 off 37 balls, while Hetmyer stole the show with a blistering 91 off 39 deliveries.

Contributions from Keemo Paul and Dwaine Pretorius in the latter part of the innings further pushed the score, and the Warriors posted a mammoth total of 266/7 in their 20 overs. This was the highest score in CPL 2024 and the second-highest in the tournament's history.

Mikyle Louis Quick Cameo

Chasing the daunting target, the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots made a valiant effort, led by captain Andre Fletcher. His aggressive batting put the pressure on the Warriors' bowlers, as he received solid support from Kyle Mayers and Sherfane Rutherford.

However, Mikyle Louis played a quick cameo of 31 runs off 21 balls for the Patriots. One of the standout moments of Louis' innings was his massive six off Imran Tahir in the 12th over.

This shot was smashed after Tahir's double-wicket maiden. This six was recorded as 107m, the longest of CPL 2024.

In the end, the Guyana Amazon Warriors secured a commanding victory and defeated the Patriots by 40 runs. Their total of 266/7 proved too much to chase and ensured their win in this high-scoring encounter.
