The U-19 India team is currently engaged in a fierce clash against Japan in the U-19 Asia Cup at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah. The Men in Blue were going strong until Japan made their first breakthrough and removed Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the talk of the town ever since his recent purchase by Rajasthan Royals (RR) for the Indian Premier League 2025.

Suryavanshi, criticised for his cheap dismissal against Pakistan, looked to start strong. However, he failed to keep the momentum going as Japan's slow left-arm orthodox bowler, Charles Hinze, got rid of him for 23 runs off 22 balls. During his time at the crease, Vaibhav tonked three boundaries and one maximum at a strike rate of 100.

In the 8th over, Charlie Hinze unleashed a short delivery coming on to the right-handed batter. Suryavanshi got down on one knee and went for a slog sweep. The ball travelled high and far, but Timothy Moore grabbed onto a stunner right near the ropes, and eventually, his team drew first blood. This wicket marked the end of a strong 65-run partnership between the India openers.

13-Year-Old Vaibhav Suryavanshi Suspected Of Age Fraud

Earlier, the 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi made headlines after becoming the youngest player ever to be picked in the IPL auction. Rajasthan Royals splurged a whopping INR 1.1 crore to acquire the budding talent for the IPL 2025 season.

But, reports claiming that Suryavanshi is 15 years old have taken centre stage, suggesting that the youngster is older. As soon as the news broke, rumours of age fraud began circulating, and debates sparked across social media. However, amid these claims, his father, Sanjiv Suryavanshi, has stood by him and said they would be willing to undergo a bone test to put an end to the age fraud rumours.
