Bollywood Meets Cricket: '12th Fail' Actor Vikrant Massey To Star In The Biopic Of 'This' RCB Legend?

One of Bollywood's breakthrough talents, Vikrant Massey recently took to Instagram to announce his retirement from acting leaving his fans in shock. Massey, who had received heaps of praises for his performance in back-to-back releases like 12th Fail, Sector 36 and Sabarmati Express in the last few months, thanked his fans for their support and said that he would be forever indebted to them.

Amid this shocking revelation, an interview of the 37-year-old actor has re-surfaced where he revealed that he would like to act in a cricket biopic of former India great and ex-Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) stunner, Dinesh Karthik. Massey sung Karthik's praises and called  him a 'phenomenal' bloke. In fact, he also revealed that the two have already discussed the matter about his desire to play him in his biopic.

Fans Mistake Dinesh Karthik For Vikrant Massey

In a hilarious turn of events, a fan had earlier mistaken Dinesh Karthik as Vikrant Massey and congratulated him on Twitter for the film, "Phir Aayi Haseen Dilruba". The fan wrote, "Just watched Phir Aayi Hasseen Dilruba, powerful performance by @DineshKarthik." To which, the wicket-keeper batter responded humorously.


Karthik, who will be playing for Paarl Royals in SA20 announced his retirement in July. He has had a a glorious 18-year-long career in international cricket where he has played 180 matches across all formats—26 Tests, 94 ODIs, and 64 T20Is. The cricketer known for his match-winning feats in India's T20 World Cup and Champions Trophy wins also played a crucial part in India's last Test series victory in 2007 in England.
