In the ongoing Under-19 Asia Cup 2024 match between India and Pakistan, the Men in Blue are in trouble as they have lost two early wickets. Notably, Pakistan, batting first, put 281 runs on the board.

Pakistani openers were on fire as Usman Khan and Shahzaib Khan stitched a 170-run stand for the first wicket, which featured a century from the latter. However, Indian bowlers bounced back and didn't let Pakistan put 300+ runs on the board.

IND vs PAK U-19: Vaibhav Registers A Flop Show

Eyes were on 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who recently became the youngest-ever player to be sold in an IPL auction. Notably, Rajasthan bought the southpaw for 1.10 crore in the recently concluded auction in Jeddah.

However, he failed to justify his IPL buy and departed cheaply for a score of 1 (8). On the first ball of the fifth over, Suryavanshi produced a thick outside edge, and keeper Saad Baig made no mistake behind the stumps.

The fans were disappointed with the first impression they had of Vaibhav as the 13-year-old struggled from the first ball and didn't look comfortable.

Vaibhav Hit With Age-Fraud Allegations Before The Start Of Under-19 Asia Cup

It is worth noting that as soon as Vaibhav hogged the headlines following his IPL auction, he dealt with controversy as several fans questioned his age and alleged a age-fraud. The fans circulated an old interview of his, which hinted at age fraud.

Meanwhile, his father came to his defence and cleared the air around his age. He remarked:

“When he was 8 and a half years old he first appeared for a BCCI bone test. He has already played India U-19. We don’t fear anyone. He can again undergo age test,” remarked his father.

At the time of writing this article, India are 34/2 after seven overs.
