In a magnificent display of impeccable fast bowling, Shabnim Ismail of Mumbai Indians Women castled UP Warriorz Women captain Alyssa Healy with a fireball that crashed through the gates to end the Aussie's short stay at the crease.

Despite early setbacks, Mumbai Indians Women managed to put up a fighting total of 160 runs on board in the first innings thanks to Nat-Sciver Brunt's 45-run knock and Sajana's late cameo.

However, the target wasn't formidable, and thus, MI-W came out with all guns blazing to rock UP-W with early blows in the chase.

The defending champions' plans were spot on as Saika Ishaque and Hayley Matthews chipped two early wickets of Kiran Navgire and Chamari Athapaththu inside the powerplay.  With 15 runs on the board, UP Warriorz captain Alyssa Healy was put under pressure to salvage the chase.

However, Mumbai Indians golden arm, Shabnim Ismail proved to be too good for Healy. In the penultimate over of the powerplay, Ismail used her unmatched pace to rattle Healy.

A length delivery on the off-stump line nipped back and Alyssa Healy was caught in an awkward position. In a defensive approach, she tried to stab the delivery but was beaten by the splendid pace of Shabnim Ismail.

The ball rammed through the gates between Healy's bat and pad and destroyed the leg stump. While Healy stood in disbelief, a jubilant Ismail aggressively celebrated the important wicket of the UP-W captain.

With that, UP-W dropped further down in the crucial contest. With the required run rate soaring over 11, UP-W's almost half the side was back under the hut inside the first 10 overs.

Notably, UP Warriorz badly need this win against Mumbai Indians Women to stay alive in the playoff race as they are currently seated at fourth place with a mere four points added to their tally.
