During Match 11 of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 on Monday, the cricketing battle between UP Warriorz Women and Royal Challengers Bangalore Women was highlighted by a moment that got the crowd buzzing. The centerpiece of this incident was an exchange between Royal Challengers Bangalore's captain, Smriti Mandhana, and UP Warriorz's all-rounder Deepti Sharma.

WPL 2024: Mandhana turned the tables on Deepti with clever last-second withdrawal

The stage was set in the 11th over of the RCB Women's innings, with Deepti Sharma bowling against a determined Mandhana. As Deepti marked her run-up for the fourth delivery, she unexpectedly halted her stride, choosing not to release the ball.

This act, often seen as a strategy to unsettle the batter, seemed to ruffle Mandhana's feathers, sparking a tit-for-tat response that turned the tables in a similar fashion.

In a move that echoed the saying, "What goes around, comes around," Smriti Mandhana decided to give Deepti a taste of her own medicine.

As Deepti ran in to bowl once more, Mandhana stepped away from the stumps, mirroring the all-rounder's earlier decision not to proceed with the delivery.

This action from their skipper elicited a wave of amusement from the Bengaluru crowd, who voiced their appreciation with a roaring cheer.

Meanwhile, under Mandhana's leadership, Royal Challengers Bangalore Women are keen to arrest a two-match losing streak after a promising start to the WPL 2024 season.

Demonstrating her skills with the bat, Mandhana led the charge with a stunning knock, hammering an impressive 80 runs filled with a flurry of 10 fours and three sixes. Her efforts along with Ellyse Perry's explosive 58 off 37 balls, propelled RCB Women to a formidable total of 198/3 in their 20 overs.
