In the ongoing match between St Kitts & Nevis Patriots and Barbados Royals at Warner Park in St Kitts, the hosts, batting first, put 153 runs on the board. They lost three early wickets, and after a solid partnership for the fourth wicket, the wickets tumbled again, restricting the Patriots to a below-par score.

Controversy In CPL 2024

The fans were upset with their team's performance, as the Andre Fletcher-led side have now gone three games without a win. Talking about the ongoing game, it was also marred with controversy after a fan was visibly unhappy when he was asked to move aside from the sight screen area.

It is quite common in cricket for play to be halted for a few minutes as the players get troubled by someone disturbing their view near the sightscreen. Those who come in between the sightscreen area gracefully shift to allow players to have full concentration.

However, such was not the case in the ongoing CPL match when the fan got upset and instead hurled a few things towards the players or the officials. He eventually went out of sight, but was visibly upset and unhappy.

The matter did not escalate and the fan did not interrupt the proceedings or come to the spotlight after that incident.

CPL Offers 1000$ Prize Money For the Fans

The CPL organisers have taken care of the fans who are coming to watch the game as they offer $1000 cash money to those who take a one-handed catch first in a match. As a result, several games so far in this CPL has seen fans or in fact, the ball boys and groundstaff going for their catches in the hope of hitting the jackpot.

At the time of writing this article, Barbados Royals are 72/4 after 10 overs.
