In a fresh blow to the English side, left-arm chinaman Kuldeep Yadav trapped a young Reham Ahmed in his spin web to claim his third wicket of the day. Shubman Gill contributed equally with a sharp catch at covers.

England bowled out India just three runs short of the 400 runs mark in the first hour of Day 2’s play. Yashasvi Jaiswal slammed his maiden double hundred to become the youngest Indian batter to achieve the feat.

Meanwhile, the Indian spinners kicked off the second inning, proceeding on a fine note. Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav removed the openers before Jasprit Bumrah sent in-form Ollie Pope packing with a killer yorker delivery.

That being said, after the tea break, Kuldeep Yadav dominated the play with his leg spin prowess. He first removed Ben Foakes as England lost their sixth wicket.

A few over later, Kuldeep outfoxed a young Rehan Ahmed. He bowled a half-tracker to lure Ahmed into playing a big shot. Ahmed fell into the trap and went on the back foot to pull. However, Ahmed was caught in an awkward position as he went after the ball a little early.

Thus, the batter lost balance and ended up getting the toe end of the bat. He failed to edge past the fielder at cover, Shubman Gill, who timed his jump to perfection to end Rehan Ahmed’s short stay at the crease.

It was Gill’s third catch of the day, and the batter certainly didn’t disappoint.

With that, the English batting order is in shambles. Skipper Ben Stokes is out in the middle to lead the fight with tail-ender Tom Hartley.

On the flip side, India would be happy with the bowling efforts. From spinners to pacers, everyone has stepped up on occasion to produce a good fightback.
