Kuldeep Yadav turned the tide in India's favor during the second session, claiming the wicket of Ben Foakes with a magical delivery in the 39th over. Bowling a flighted leg-break just outside off, Kuldeep's delivery gripped the surface, keeping low and eluding Foakes' defense. 

The ball, hitting the bottom half of the off-stump, sent Foakes, who had scored 6 runs, back to the pavilion, leaving England in a precarious situation.

Earlier in the day, India, despite Yashasvi Jaiswal's magnificent 209-run knock, were bowled out for 396 on a seemingly placid wicket. The turning point came in the second session, as Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, and Jasprit Bumrah orchestrated a collapse in the English batting order. Axar Patel dismissed the fluent Zak Crawley, while Bumrah accounted for the key wickets of Joe Root and Ollie Pope.

This marked Kuldeep's second wicket, building on his earlier dismissal of Ben Duckett, disrupting the promising opening stand between Zak Crawley and Duckett. 

England, at 172/7 after 39 overs, with Ben Stokes and Tom Hartley at the crease, found themselves grappling with the brilliance of the Indian spinners.
