Jasprit Bumrah once again proved his prowess as a potent wicket-taker by dismissing England's right-handed batsman, Joe Root. After the English batters took the toil against the India spinners, the stage was set for Bumrah to make a turnaround.

In the 26th over, Bumrah delivered a masterful spell that saw the downfall of Root for 5 runs. Root, frustrated, fell victim to Bumrah's reverse swing, as he audibly moaned upon edging the ball to Shubman Gill at slip. This marked the eighth time Bumrah had claimed the prized wicket of Root, showcasing his dominance against the premier English batter.

The delivery was nothing short of brilliance, as Bumrah went wider of the crease, bowling it on a length in the channel outside off. Root, attempting a tentative forward prod, could only manage to get an outside edge that flew straight to first slip, where Gill secured a crucial catch. Root's visible disappointment as he walked back, punching his bat, underscored the impact of Bumrah's bowling.

Earlier in the session, Zak Crawley took the matter in his hand, embarrassing the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav during his fiery knock of 76 runs. However, Axar Patel and Shreyas Iyer combined together to sent back the English opener, which caused a middle-order collapse.

With this crucial breakthrough, India successfully shifted the momentum in their favour, leaving England at 123/3.
