'Getting Rohit Sharma Was Great, But...,' Hartley Rates KS Bharat's Wicket On Debut More Special

England spinner Tom Hartley recently opened on his Test debut experience and specially rated Srikar Bharat's wicket in the chase as more valuable compared to skipper Rohit Sharma.

Tom Hartley made his Test debut against India in Hyderabad in the five-game series opener. Initially, in the first inning, the spinner struggled to navigate his way through the sub-continent conditions. Tom leaked 131 runs in 25 overs whilst scalping two wickets in the process.

However, Tom Hartley made a roaring comeback in the second innings. In a chase of 230 runs, Hartley dismantled the Indian batting order by picking up seven wickets.

He dismissed Indian captain Rohit Sharma early and much later removed Srikar Bharat just when he and Ashwin were building up a dangerous partnership.

Meanwhile, Tom Hartley was recently interviewed by Sky Sports, and he rated his special wickets off the second innings. Interestingly, Hartley revealed that while getting the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma cheaply into the chase was a great feeling, he values Srikar Bharat's wicket more.

Hartley explained that Bharat and Aswin had put together a 50-run stand, and the game was kind of slipping away from England's grip. Thus, getting his wicket on the fourth day was crucial from England's winning odds standpoint.

After the spinner removed Bharat, he bundled up the Indian side in the next five overs to seal a thumping victory for his side.

That being said, Rohit Sharma's form in red-ball cricket has been a major point of concern for the Indian side. He failed to get a big score in both the innings of the Hyderabad Test.  Even in the ongoing Vizag Test, Sharma was sent packing cheaply in the first hour of play.

It's high time Sharma rediscovers his old self before the fear of his carnage disappears amongst the opposition bowling unit.
