Gujarat Titans' Sandeep Warrier had a tough night against Delhi Capitals (DC) on Wednesday evening. With only 90 runs to defend, he, chosen as Mohammed Shami's replacement for Gujarat, faced a barrage from Abishek Porel and Shai Hope.

Things got worse when he gave away 23 runs in his third over to Hope and Porel. However, amidst the struggle, there was a glimmer of luck for Warrier. After a solid start, Porel played a poor shot and gifted his wicket to Warrier.

However, in his third over, Warrier faced a tough time as Shai Hope punished Warrier with a boundary followed by two consecutive sixes.

The fifth ball saw DC's impact player Porel, batting at number 3, striking a six off Warrier, but the bowler had the last laugh by getting Porel bowled while attempting a poor flick shot.

Porel's frustration was evident as he expressed his disappointment at getting out in such a manner.

Brilliant bowling effort from DC

Batting first Gujarat Titans were up against a brilliant and disciplined bowling attack from the Delhi Capitals. Khaleel Ahmad, Mukesh Kumar, Ishant Sharma, Kuldeep Yadav and even Tristan Stubbs bowled brilliantly, causing trouble for the Titans' batters.

Unfortunately, the Titans could only manage a total of 89 runs before being bowled out. Despite performing well in the IPL in past seasons, Gujarat continues to face challenges in the current season.

Chasing a small target of 90 runs, Fraser-McGurk stepped in to open alongside Prithvi Shaw in the absence of David Warner, who was sidelined due to injury.

Eventually, DC got over the line within 9 overs with a victory by six wickets.
