Yashasvi Jaiswal has emerged as India's latest standout player across all cricket formats. Prior to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season, there was widespread anticipation that Jaiswal would secure a spot in the Indian team as an opener alongside Rohit Sharma in T20 World Cup 2024 happening in USA and West Indies.

However, in this IPL season, where he was anticipated to shine as the talisman of the Rajasthan Royals (RR), Jaiswal has delivered performances that are rather average

Aakash Chopra, former Indian opener and cricket analyst, believes it's crucial for either Rohit Sharma or Kumar Sangakkara to have a conversation with the young Indian batter to provide some guidance and wisdom.

Aakash Chopra concerns about Jaiswal's form

Aakash Chopra is concerned about Jaiswal's place in the squad, given the tough competition he faces from players like Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, and Ishan Kishan for the opening slot alongside captain Rohit Sharma.

In such a fiercely contested field, Chopra feels that Jaiswal should be delivering stronger performances to secure his place in the team.

"Since I like this kid a lot, I want Kumar Sangakkara to talk to him, or else Rohit Sharma should pick up the phone and talk to him and say - 'You have to go to the T20 World Cup but this form is not required, play a little cautiously'. He hit a six and a four, and then tried another big shot and got out, " Chopra said in his YouTube channel.

With Kumar Sangakkara in the Rajasthan Royals squad and Indian captain Rohit Sharma, there couldn't be better mentors to offer guidance and support to Jaiswal.
